Although iOS 18 will bring a few new features to the Messages app on your iPhone in the fall, iOS 17.2 now allows you to turn off a Messages feature that some users have found bothersome. In December, Apple announced the iOS update, which brought several new and helpful features to your iPhone, including the eagerly anticipated Journal app. You may also turn off inline predictive text, a feature that was added to iOS 17 in September, in iOS 17.2.
According to an article published online by Apple, inline predictive text is designed to anticipate your text as you type and add it to your text if you press space. Not all of the time would the feature correctly guess what you were typing.
Therefore, you risk adding the incorrect text to your message if you hit space. With iOS 17.2, Apple apparently listened to the complaints of many who found the feature bothersome, including myself, and made it possible to disable it.
To disable inline predictive text, follow these steps.

You won’t have to worry about accidentally typing a term you didn’t mean to use. Predictive text, including recommended words and emoji, will continue to appear over your keyboard.
Disable all predictive text.

In a few simple actions, you may disable all of these recommendations.

You may also quickly disable all predictive text if you find it unpleasant. Here’s how:
1. Go to Settings
Second, select General; third, select Keyboard; and fourth, select the switch adjacent to Predictive Text.
You won’t see a box with emojis or recommended words over your keyboard when you compose a message anymore. Disabling predictive text
also disables inline predictive text, so you won’t see any recommendations whatsoever. You can type without interruption.
