We found out that hiding your applications is one of the new features that iOS 18 will offer to your iPhone when Apple introduced it at WWDC 2024. However, you may hide applications on your iPhone before the update is available. If you wish to use an app later, you may remove it from your home screen and save it in the App Library.
When Apple released iOS 14 in 2020, the App Library was first made available. This function keeps the applications on your iPhone off of your home screen and groups them into categories like social and entertainment. Keep in mind that your iPhone automatically arranges these categories, and you are unable to rearrange your applications if you
disagree about the location of them.
Here’s how to access the App Library and hide applications from the home screen of your iPhone.
Keeping applications hidden on your iPhone
1. To bring up a menu, tap and hold the app on your home screen.
2. Select “Remove App.”
3. From the Home Screen, choose Remove.
The app will still be available in your App Library even if it will no longer be visible on your home screen. Additionally, you may quickly hide many apps at once. Here’s how.
1. To make your icons begin to move, tap and hold an empty area of your home screen.
2. To conceal an app, tap the minus sign in the app’s corner.
3. From the Home Screen, choose Remove.
Do the second one again and
Tap Done in the upper right corner of your home screen after completing the third step and hiding every app you choose to hide.
There are other methods to access your applications now that they are not on your home screen. Here’s how.
How to get to your hidden applications
Using the Spotlight search function by tapping Search near the bottom of your home screen is the quickest method to locate a hidden program. The app you’re looking for should then show up above when you enter its name in the search field.

Additionally, you may swipe right on your home screen to launch the application.
The last screen shows the library. By clicking the search box at the top of your screen, you may search the App Library and see the many categories your iPhone has arranged your apps into.
To restore a hidden app to your home screen, swipe right to access the App Library, press and hold the app, and then select Add to Home Screen.
Clear off your home screen while keeping your apps visible.
You may make folders with all of your applications on your home screen if you want to organize them without hiding them in the App Library. You may arrange your programs as you like and give these folders whatever name you like.
Unlike the App Library, you have more discretion over where your apps are located.
This is how to make folders for your apps on your home screen.
1. Press and hold a vacant area of your home screen until your icons begin to move.
2. A gray square will encircle the two applications when you tap one and slide it onto another.
The iPhone has an app section called Utilities. Voice Memos, Compass, and Measure are a few of the applications in the folder.
You may add any programs you want to folders and organize them anyway you like.
You may move more applications to the home screen by tapping outside of the gray square.
if you’d like, into your new folder. In the upper right corner of your home screen, choose Done when you’re done.
Your home screen is now lot cleaner, your applications aren’t buried, and you don’t need to use Spotlight or the App Library to find them. Additionally, you can organize all of your games and social networking applications in one location without fearing that your iPhone may lose them.
