Google is taking another bid in order to support tech startups working on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science. The search giant has chosen Tel Aviv, Israel as the new location for its startup accelerator. The accelerator has already started working since March the first week to support the startups in the country.
The new accelerator location began operating at the beginning of March as part of Google’s Launchpad program. This is the first time when Google has crossed the US border for setting up its startup accelerator. It is quite questionable, why Google has left the silicon valley and moved towards Israel for empowering the young minds to cultivate modern science. On this, Roy Glasberg, founder, and manager of Google Global Acceleration programs said that after years of observation he came to know that Israel is the best place for experimentation.
In addition, the small area is the advantage for the tech innovators as everything is confined to a short distance. The small region helps us in finding the mentors, companies, professionals and everything in no time. According to Google Israel is full of new ideas and innovations all needed is an accelerator program to give them a push. The new machine-learning and AI-based accelerator will help the startups in Israel to harness the technology with all possible support. The latest move in Israel is an initiative from Google to back up the small startups struggling to pitch their idea on a larger scale.
Currently, Google’s Israel accelerator is working with a local startup named BrainQ technologies from Jerusalem. According to the reports, the startup is developing a program that helps in treating neurological disorders like enabling a paralyzed person to move. Google aims to elevate the startups working on the innovative ideas that could make a huge change in the world like BrainQ Technologies. Apart from its own accelerator, Google is also working with 150 to 200 local startups via different Israeli accelerators.
Google didn’t seek out any equity share or any capital favor from these startups instead it asks these startups to work with the company on different challenges. Simultaneously, Google is also planning to set up another accelerator program in Lagos, Nigeria.
