Whether you can’t seem to stop thinking or you had too much coffee, your Google Home or Google Nest smart speaker can help you sleep like a baby. In addition to being useful for planning your day, the gadget is also useful for relaxing.

The first thing you should say if you’re having problems falling asleep is, “Hey, Google, I can’t sleep.” In response, it will provide a variety of alternatives, such as ambient music, deep breathing, sheep counting, natural noises, or lulling playlists to aid in falling asleep. Sadly, there is yet no remedy for nightmares.

One of my favorite methods to fall asleep when my mind won’t stop working is to listen to a podcast. Granted, Google will select a couple at random that might not be of interest to you if you simply ask it to play a podcast. However, you may choose what you choose to hear. The Sleep With Me podcast is my own personal fave. It has exactly the proper amount of rambling to tire you and just enough interest to divert your attention. I found that the Google Podcasts app was the most compatible with my Google Home.

When you begin an episode, just tap the moon icon. You can’t set a sleep timer aloud yet. You have the option of selecting the

podcast to finish at the conclusion of the episode, after five minutes, or after 105 minutes. The Sleep Meditation Podcast, One Third of Life, Bedtime Stories for Nobody, Sleep Whispers, and Tracks to Relax are just a few of the many sleep-promoting podcasts available on the app.

I enjoy dozing off to TV shows or podcasts. Try the Google Home’s bedtime tale feature if your child is struggling to catch some Zs. Although the stories are geared for children, they could offer some background noise for children of all ages to fall asleep to. Make sure you have Storynory and Google Play Books installed since Google selects short stories from such sources. Fairy tales, oddball tales, or shorts featuring well-known TV characters like Dora the Explorer range in length from three to ten minutes.

Indeed, Google is able to lull you to sleep.
